Senior Payroll Specialist

We are looking for a Senior Payroll Specialist who can lead end-to-end payroll delivery, ensure strict compliance, supervise junior staff, and provide clear reporting and analytics. You’ll manage payroll accuracy, stakeholder communication, and weekly/month-end reporting, while helping enhance payroll controls, risk management, and operational efficiency.


What is your mission? 

You will provide the best service to our partner brands by performing these tasks:

  • Deliver accurate and timely end-to-end payroll aligned with contracts, internal policies, and legislative requirements.
  • Review, validate, and process payroll data; ensure compliance with taxation, deductions, and statutory obligations.
  • Supervise and guide two junior payroll officers; delegate tasks, ensure workload coverage, and maintain quality controls.
  • Handle payroll-related queries from employees, HR, and Finance; provide clear, confidential, customer-focused responses.
  • Produce weekly payroll reports, month-end summaries, and payroll analytics; support cash-preservation dashboards.
  • Collaborate with HR/Finance on audits, reconciliations, payroll adjustments, and compliance projects.
  • Maintain knowledge of modern awards, payroll tax, work cover, and relevant legislation (AU specifics can be trained).
  • Support risk management, business continuity, and process improvement within the payroll framework.
  • Work with tools such as Power BI, SFTP transfers, or similar platforms to support reporting and transition initiatives.
  • Uphold strict confidentiality and integrity in handling employee and company data.


Who are we looking for?

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, HR, or related field.
  • 3–5 years payroll experience at a senior level, including supervising or directing junior officers.
  • Strong end-to-end payroll expertise with compliance knowledge across tax, legislation, and industrial instruments.
  • Intermediate to advanced Excel (lookups, pivot tables, formulas) and strong payroll analytics/reporting capabilities.
  • Experience with payroll platforms, modern awards/payroll tax/work cover frameworks (AU specifics can be trained).
  • Familiarity with Power BI, SFTP data transfers, or similar technical tools.
  • Experience producing month-end reports, dashboards, and cash-preservation analytics.
  • Understanding of payroll risk management and business continuity practices.
  • Strong communication skills for handling payroll queries and collaborating with HR/Finance.
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to maintain strict confidentiality.
  • Leadership ability to coach, delegate, and maintain quality across payroll operations.
